She lectures in comparative law at the University of Cologne and is recognised internationally for her ability to foresee and navigate the legal challenges of a rapidly changing world. Previously, Dr. Haddad advised the United Nations Climate Secretariat (UNFCCC) on legal adaptations to climate change as part of the Resilience Frontiers project. Today, she applies her pioneering methodology — the “7 Steps to Legal Transformation” — to guide stakeholders through disruptive societal and technological change. Known for her ability to live “between worlds,” Dr. Haddad bridges not only languages but cultures, connecting perspectives that might otherwise remain apart. This unique skill is essential when uniting changemakers, regulators, and practitioners to develop research-based legal solutions that keep pace with innovation and societal evolution. About The Institute The Institute for Legal Transformation is a research hub, think tank, and global network of experts dedicated to shaping the law of the future. Our work focuses on three urgent frontiers: adapting legal systems to the climate crisis, addressing the impact of exponential technologies, and navigating disruptive shifts in society. We deliver research-driven guidance for reimagining regulations and enforcement — envisioning possible futures, anticipating challenges, and prototyping practical alternatives. By assembling bespoke teams of leading experts, we bridge the gap between innovators and regulators, providing forward-thinking, interdisciplinary assessments of disruptive developments and their legal, societal, and ethical implications. Our Philosophy “While grounded in the values of today’s legal systems, we step beyond their current boundaries to imagine new frameworks for the future. We recognise an urgent truth: traditional lawmaking is struggling to match the speed of disruptive change — from climate emergencies to transformative technologies. “Our approach blends comparative law with foresight and futures methodologies, allowing us to anticipate rather than simply react. Acting as intermediaries between technology leaders, change-drivers, and established powers in politics, business, and society, we navigate legal grey zones and bring clarity to the fog of uncertainty.” Founder and Director The Institute for Legal Transformation Email: office@legaltransformation.io www.legaltransformation.io “Law must evolve as quickly as the world it serves — anything less risks leaving society unprotected.”
