Women in Law Awards 2021 - 36 - UNITED KINGDOM DISPUTE RESOLUTION “In 2012, Hatti was the first non-lawyer to become regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (‘SRA’) and as such, she established the 9th Alternative Business Structure Law Firm, Red Bar Law” LLP HATTI SUVARI RED BAR LAW LLP T: 020 7129 1424 | M: 07957 618 283 | E: hatti@redbarlaw.com ABOUT HATTI SUVARI Hatti Suvari was born in London Islington, and after a decade of working in the legal sector, she had been recognised by the profession as a “legal expert”, and a leading businesswoman. Hatti’s background in the world of corporate finance, her own experience of a complex and acrimonious divorce, helped her understand the struggles and challenges that come with such a life-changing event, which she describes as being “One of the most difficult times of my life”. This personal experience, along with other profound situations pushed her to try and understand the law, which in turn spurred her to want to establish and run a law firm, that delivers legal services with fixed fees, and in a bespoke, client-focused way. In 2012, Hatti was the first non-lawyer to become regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (‘SRA’) and as such, she established the 9th Alternative Business Structure Law Firm, Red Bar Law LLP. Through Red Bar Law, Hatti thrives on guiding people through difficult and challenging times within legal disputes, by offering the support and the assistance that Hatti wished she had received when going through her many earlier legal challenges. Hatti has organised a team of the best legal minds in the business, and at the Bar, with whom she works closely with to assist her clients. She applies strategy, commonsense and a commercial approach to each client matter, to ensure that each dispute is resolved, and every query explained and answered to her clients, together with a no-nonsense and a diligent attitude. Red Bar Law was shortlisted for the Industry Pioneer Award by the Financial Times. Through owning and running Red Bar Law, Hatti could clearly see that ordinary people had almost no legal knowledge to be able to navigate through the issues that they were being faced with. In 2019, Hatti came up with the idea of bringing legal education to the public and she set up and trademarked the brand, Get Legally Speaking with Hatti Suvari, a Podcast giving jargon free legal explanations on all aspects of the law, in plain English. Get Legally Speaking has rapidly became the number one legal podcast in the UK, covering all topics relative to everyday living. From property law, employee and employer rights, making a Will to company and or partnership disputes, divorce and co-habitation and much more. To-date, Get Legally Speaking has had over 600,000 downloads in its first 14 months, and has published over 100 episodes. It is listened to in over 100 countries, and is in the top 1% of Podcasts listened to in the UK and in the top 10% listened to globally. In the past year, Hatti has been featured in BBC Radio London, ITV News, Sky News, Marie Claire, The Times, We Are The City, Your Coffee Club, Women Of The City, Closer, The Yorkshire Post, Close Up and across many other media channels. Even though Hatti’s journey in to the legal sector has not come from qualifying as a lawyer, she has been able to assist many people in difficult and challenging legal disputes, and she has helped to break down the legal jargon for many, who find themselves vulnerable as clients to the legal industry, as the legal sector has a reputation for being overpriced, intimidating and difficult to understand. Hatti is also a mother to two lovely boys, and a wife to a very supportive husband. AWARDED IN RECOGNITION OF OUTSTANDING LEGAL SERVICES
