Stella is currently Senior Managing Attorney of Estate Planning and Probate Law and a Partner at Gravis Law, PLLC. Gravis and her many happy clients recognize Stella’s depth of experience, leadership, and expertise in areas ranging from simple wills to complex taxable estates, family farms, multi-state assets, and coordinating the multigenerational transfer of business and wealth. Stella earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington at the Jackson School of International Studies. During her undergraduate education, Stella studied one year at Beijing University during 1989 - then under martial law after the events at Tiananmen Square earlier that summer. She received her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law, and returned to study in China at the East China University of Politics and Law in Shanghai. In 2016, Stella joined Gravis Law PLLC as Managing Attorney overseeing the Estate Planning and Probate practice group. By the end of 2016, she had become an equity partner and one of four Senior Managing Attorneys guiding the growth and direction of the fast-growing firm. As Senior Managing Attorney, Stella manages her dynamic practice and growing team across multiple states. One area of her practice that demonstrates Stella’s leadership philosophy is her commitment to mentorship. Washington State has a four-year apprenticeship program that allows individuals to study under an experienced attorney as a law clerk and become an attorney while working in the legal field and without the expense of attending a traditional law school. Stella has been an assistant tutor for one such clerk and is now training her current paralegal to become an attorney under this program. Outside of her professional work, Stella is active in organizations that support growth, personal development and mentoring. She has been President of the Tri-Cities Estate Planning Council, the Benton Franklin Counties Bar Association, and Powerful Connections. Powerful Connections links women business professionals through personal and professional development. As part of Powerful Connections, Stella worked as part of a team to establish a two-year Mentor Program providing leadership training to women at earlier stages in their careers. That program is currently working with its fourth cohort of mentees, preparing entrepreneurial women for future success and community leadership. Stella enjoys the dynamic nature of her work with Gravis Law and being able to pursue her life purpose of helping others take advantage of available opportunities, fostering their growth and success and helping clients plan for and navigate inevitable transitions.
