28 www.lawyer-monthly.com Nicole, can you walk us through your journey from law school to becoming the Founding Attorney of Sodano Law PLLC? Well, it’s been quite a journey. Right after law school, I simultaneously took and passed the FL and NJ Bar exams. Then, during the next Bar testing period (Bar exams only happen twice per year) I took and passed the NY Bar. After that, I was hired to help start a law firm that did work throughout the country dealing with creditor/debtor issues. So, right from the start, I hit the ground running, helping to establish a law firm while also practicing in all three states where I was admitted. After that, I went on to work as an associate at a nationally recognized Plaintiff’s toxic tort firm in NYC, helping victims who were diagnosed with mesothelioma, asbestos lung cancer, and asbestosis. After several years practicing in NY, I decided that I wanted to move back to FL. That’s when I got into First Party Property, which I have been doing for the past five-plus years. I have always been a Plaintiff’s lawyer and take pride in helping the everyday person against a large corporation that has wronged them. I started my own firm after the birth of my second son. I decided that it was time to stop working for others and work for myself so that I could be in control of the types of cases I retained and the way I wanted to work them. Thus far, I have retained over $1 million dollars on behalf of my clients who suffered losses due to Hurricane Ian. Nicole Sodano Esq. 66 W.
