Rachel Cohen is a Partner at Gale, Sutow & Associates, A.P.C., a law firm representing employers, insurance companies, and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense litigation including but not limited to Complex and Catastrophic Claims litigation, Labor Code 132(a) Wrongful Termination, Serious & Willful matters and Subrogation throughout the State of California. Rachel received her Juris Doctorate Degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California in 1999 after completing her B.A. in Political Science at Union College in Schenectady, New York in 1996. Prior to exclusively practicing workers’ compensation law, Ms. Cohen had experience practicing Family Law, Immigration Law, Personal Injury Law and Labor and Employment Law.
Ms. Cohen is located at Gale, Sutow & Associates’ Orange County Office and has extensive experience representing insurance companies, third party administrators, employers, self-insured employers, government & public entities, uninsured employers, various professional sports teams and CIGA (California Insurance Guarantee Association). Ms. Cohen is well versed in all aspects of Workers’ Compensation and has experience handling COVID claims, Labor Code 132(a) Wrongful Termination claims, Serious and Willful matters, all aspects of Subrogation and third-party claims, professional sports cases, public safety personnel claims and public entity claims. She has significant experience addressing contribution and reimbursement claims both at the WCAB and via Arbitration as well as significant experience in Lien litigation.
Ms. Cohen utilizes a combination of aggressive discovery and litigation, creative problem solving and outside the box thinking to obtain favorable outcomes for her clients. She has a track record of ensuring significant cost savings for her clients due to her defense and early resolution of litigated claims. Ms. Cohen appears at all California WCAB venues throughout the State and regularly speaks at industry conferences and events on all topics relevant to the California’s Workers’ Compensation system and industry.
