Adjou Ait Ben Idir is a corporate finance lawyer based in Dubai, with previous experience in our Paris and Casablanca offices. She advises across the Middle East and Africa, with a particular focus on North Africa and OHADA countries in West and Central Africa.
Recognised for her expertise in mergers and acquisitions, privatisations, private placements, and international joint ventures, Adjou has led on cross-border transactions spanning Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. She operates seamlessly under both Civil law and Common law systems, with deep knowledge of UAE, North African, OHADA, English, and French law.
Adjou regularly assists major clients on complex Middle East/Africa-related transactions. Her career also includes in-house experience at Total SA, where she focused on corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption, and human rights matters in energy projects and M&A deals, as well as time with a French law firm.
She holds a master's degree from the University of Paris II Assas and two post-graduate degrees from the University of Paris I Sorbonne – in OHADA and African countries law, and in MENA/Arab countries law. She also conducted research at Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne on corporate social responsibility and compliance in M&A transactions.
