Kate Rafton is the owner and Managing Director of Rafton Family Lawyers. She has over 20 years experience as a lawyer and is known as a leader in the field of family law and divorce located in Sydney Australia.

Kate established the firm in 2007 in the outer suburbs of Sydney seeing rapid expansion and growth now operating 7 offices in key geographical locations. Kate is recognised as a leading lawyer in the Sydney region, with dual specialist accreditation in Family Law and Children’s Law. Along with her law qualifications, Kate is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in Intensive Care and Trauma Nursing. She also has post graduate qualifications in Health Management. Her experience of dealing with people in times of crisis shows her compassion and understanding for the complexities of divorce and family law.

Kate established the firm with a vision to be the leading family law firm in her region and provide expert advice in complex matters. After 20 years Kate has blazed a pathway for other female leaders in her profession and is proud to see other young female lawyers carving out a niche in this highly competitive area.

Kate has been nominated for numerous accolades and awards over the past 20 years and in 2024 was Recognised as a Tier 1 Family Lawyer in the Best Law Firms International awards for the local region.
